Tim Mikkelsen
Managing Director
 
Tim has been involved in the Hire Industry from the the age of five when in 1969 his father purchased a small hire company in Palmerston North employing two people. Tim worked for the family business on and off over the years after school and in the holidays, but started in earnest after returning from his OE in 1990. The family business was sold in 1993 and at that point ran two separate divisions (party hire and general hire) and employing a staff of twelve. Tim worked for a corporate hire company for three years but really wanted to own his own business.

Tim bought Kapiti Hire in December of 1999 and has taken the company from a small one man operation with a limited range of plant, to a staff of five including himself and now hire anything from portable toilets to champagne flutes.

Tim is passionate about the hire industry. He has been on the executive board of the Hire Industry Association of New Zealand since 2006 and is the current President of the association.

Tim is married with four children and is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Kapiti.
 
Rod Greening
Branch Manager

Rod has been involved in the hire industry since 1996 and joined Kapiti Hire in 2002. His mechanical background and friendly personality made him the ideal person to manage the daily operations Kapiti Hire.

Rodís strong operational focus ensures our team deliver on expert advice and quality equipment.


 
 
Sue Cooper
Customer Services
 
Sue joined the Kapiti Hire in December 2000 and with Tim has seen the company grow and diversify into new markets. She has vast range of responsibilities from office administration to customer services and has a major input into the daily operational logistics of the company.
Sue is our main party hire customer service person.
